February 6, 2005; Herald Times Reporter Alice M. Steiner, 84, a former Stratford resident, died Wednesday, Fe b. 2, 2005, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Servic es at Colonial Manor Medical and Rehabilitation Center in Wausau, where s he had resided since June 13, 2001. Alice was born March 11, 1920, in Stratford, the daughter of Edward J. a nd Regina (Adams) Meyer. She attended St. Joseph's Parochial School and gr aduated from Stratford High School. She married Donald H. Steiner on Fe b. 16, 1946, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Wausau. He died Aug. 22, 19 87. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, where she served as a E ucharistic Minister, the Parish Council of Catholic Women, the Stratford a rea Deanery, the auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars of which she h ad served as president, was a former Emergency Medical Technician and an a vid bowler. She is survived by a brother, Edward M. (Sharon) Meyer of Wausau; three s isters, Cora (Larry) Socha of Neenah, Beatrice Radenz of Wausau and Mae (G erald) Allain of Weston; and a sister-in-law, Bernadine Meyer of Rothschil d. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband; and sisters and brothe rs, Genevieve Busche, Dorothy Szekeress, Raymond Meyer, Esther Emerick a nd Leon Meyer. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 7, 200 5, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Stratford. The Rev. Thomas J. Rudol ph will officiate and Florence Kaiser will be the organist for St. Joseph 's Resurrection Choir. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until servi ce time Monday at St. Joseph's Church. A memorial service at 10:30 a.m. Mo nday will be conducted by the auxiliary to the VFW Post No. 6352 of Stratf ord and a St. Joseph's Parish Council of Catholic Women Rosary service wi ll be held at 11 a.m. Monday, all at the church. Sauter/Kundinger Funer al Home of Stratford is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, memoria ls may be designated in her name to St. Joseph's Parish Endowment Fund, St ratford, or to the charity of the donor's choice.
