Theresa married Hugo Sebastian Haas, son of John Joseph Haas and Karolina Paulina Hatt, on Sep 17, 1912. (Hugo Sebastian Haas was born on Feb 17, 1885 in Mascoutah, St. Clair, Illinois, USA, died on Apr 1, 1933 and was buried in Trenton, Clinton, Illinois, USA.)

  Marriage Notes:

Hugo and Theresa were married in Holy Childhood Church by Father Charles Kuhlmann. They owned a farm in Looking Glass Township four miles southeast of Trenton. They had no children. He worked on his farm on March 31, 1933 and died at 5:15 AM on the next day. An article in the Catholic Messenger stated: “He died following a stroke of apoplexy. At an inquest at Trenton by Dr. Morony, a jury found that his death was due to natural causes.”

Mildred Rehberger Witzig remembers spending a week with them every summer, along with her sister Cornelia.

I remember Uncle Hugo having a black and white collie and Hugo would say to the dog in German: “Schon sitze” and the dog would sit up on his hind legs.

Theresa next married Joseph A Bauer, son of Andrew Bauer and Lena Hilpert, on Apr 23, 1935 in Belleville, St. Clair, Illinois, USA. (Joseph A Bauer was born in 1896, died in 1986 and was buried in Trenton, Clinton, Illinois, USA.)
