In 1879 Barbara married Wendelin Zinck, who had been previously married and had a son Emil. They lived at 226 Mill Street in the city of Nashville, Washington County, IL where Wendelin was a blacksmith. They had a daughter Josephine born March 25, 1880.

In 1900 Barbara was widowed and living with her daughter Katharina Mary and family on West Main Street in the city of DuQuoin. This is where she died on December 9, 1925, of cerebral apoplexy, aged 79 years, 3 months, and 15 days.

Barbara’s estate consisted of five houses and lots in the city of DuQuoin. She left surviving her no husband and no children, so her heirs were her twelve grandchildren, the children of Katharina & William Royster.
